Frequently asked questions

How MyKameti supports shared decisions, clear records and member accountability.

These answers describe the current app workflow and intended production service. Final live-service terms will be confirmed before launch.

Money & payments

Does MyKameti take, store or route any money?

No. MyKameti does not take, hold, store, route or transfer members’ money. Members make transfers directly between their own bank accounts. The app records contribution obligations and receipt acknowledgements; it does not operate a pooled account.

What does a payment confirmation mean?

It records the recipient’s acknowledgement that they received a payment. It is not independent verification from a bank, and it does not move money. Check your own bank records before confirming receipt.

Are contributions or payouts guaranteed?

No. MyKameti does not guarantee that a member will pay or that a payout will arrive. Choose your circle carefully, review the agreement and understand your obligations. Shared records support accountability but do not replace it.

Agreements & member power

What can every member see and do?

Members have a shared view of their circle’s terms, membership, draw progress, payment records and relevant proposals, within their access permissions. Once the circle is active, members can propose eligible changes, vote and raise eligible disputes.

What is the organiser responsible for?

The organiser coordinates setup, invitations and draw activity. MyKameti brings the records together to reduce tracking and chasing. The organiser still has responsibilities, and member voting controls eligible changes to the circle.

Why are digital agreements important?

Members review and accept the terms before the circle activates. The record helps everyone understand the contribution amount, schedule, draw method and responsibilities. Read the agreement carefully; accepting it is a meaningful commitment.

Can the organiser change the rules alone?

Eligible changes to an active circle go through proposals and member voting. Administrative actions still exist, but an organiser’s role does not replace the proposal process for those changes.

Proposals & voting

Who can create a proposal?

Any member can create eligible proposals while the kameti is active. Examples include changing the draw method, frequency, payment window, check-in requirement or organiser. Proposals open for voting.

How does a proposal pass?

The current rule requires every member to be accounted for and no member to vote No. An explicit opt-out counts as a vote without counting as No; at the deadline, a missing vote is treated as an opt-out. One No prevents the proposal from passing.

Can a proposal change the contribution amount or add members?

Not after activation under the current rules. The contribution amount stays fixed, and inviting new members is unavailable once the circle is active. Agree those details during setup.

What happens when a member-removal proposal passes?

Removal requires a reason and has a separate repayment process. Winners repay the departing member as required by the circle’s rules. Removal remains pending and draws pause until those payments are confirmed. The affected member can appeal.

Disputes & accountability

When can a member raise a dispute?

Disputes can be opened while the circle is active or already in dispute. Payment disputes depend on your relationship to the payment: for example, a non-payment dispute is raised by the intended recipient against the payer. Member, rule and technical issues have their own eligible parties.

What happens to draws during a dispute?

Opening a dispute puts the circle into dispute and pauses new draws. Already-issued payments can still be recorded and confirmed. Draws can resume when every dispute is resolved and the other draw requirements are met.

How can a dispute be resolved?

The parties can use the settlement workflow or the person who raised it can withdraw it by marking it resolved. A non-monetary settlement needs acceptance by the other party. For a monetary settlement, the receiving member proposes the amount, the payer accepts, and the recipient confirms payment before resolution. MyKameti does not send that payment.

Support & getting started

How do I ask for help?

In the app, use Account support from the menu for an account issue, or Request support on the circle overview for a kameti issue. Describe what happened and what you expected. For website or early-interest enquiries, email [email protected].

Can Support change my circle without permission?

Ordinary circle changes require a proposal describing the intended change and its impact, followed by member approval. Approved access lasts up to seven days or until the ticket closes. Changes are recorded on the ticket. Support cannot remove members or freely alter completed payments or winners.

Is there an exception for an unconfirmed removal repayment?

The current workflow allows a payer to submit proof when a removal repayment was made but the recipient will not confirm it. Support can review that proof and record confirmation without a member vote. This records a support review; it is not a transfer by MyKameti or independent bank verification.

What draw methods are available?

The current app offers a spinning wheel, a spinning wheel with winner confirmation by voting, random selection, manual selection and card draw. Draws still follow eligibility, check-in and dispute rules; the fun presentation does not change member responsibilities.

How can I express early interest?

Use the early-interest link on the home page to email [email protected]. Tell us whether you organise a circle, participate in one or are exploring the idea. If you want ongoing product updates, explicitly request them. An enquiry does not create an account or guarantee pilot access.
